CNC MACHINES

What is CNC and what does it do? Information about CNC Machine and CNC Advantages, Disadvantages and History:

CNC machines are widely used in factories today. Because of this demand, what is Cnc and what does it do for you? What are the advantages, disadvantages and history of CNC machine and CNC?

Cnc are systems that generally put manpower in the background and completely open the way for mass production. It is in demand by many factories. For this reason, many cnc operators are trained.

What is CNC?

It is also called as Computer Numerical Control (CNC), that is, computer-numbered management. CNC machines, that is, workbenches, is a system that performs an automatic operation by programming through the computer mounted on it. Therefore, they are very important systems.

What Do CNC Machines Do?

CNC is throwing the human power into the background, transferring the work to the machines and paving the way for mass production. To give an example, we can manufacture hundreds of pieces in minutes, thanks to the CNC machine, of the parts that the operator processed in approximately 1 hour and produced a few pieces on the lathe.

How Are CNC Machines Used?

It is necessary to use CNC simulation or manufacturing programs in order to activate the tools on CNC machines, that is, machine tools, or to process any part and manufacture. The actual part to be processed in these CNC programs is tested in the computer environment and saved as an NC file after the correct operations are completed.

The NC file is transferred to the CNC machine tool with the help of a flash memory. The NC file, which passes the test successfully, is transferred to the CNC machine tools. Then, for manufacturing purposes, the machine tool should be pulled to the reference point and zeroing should be done.

The final controls are made from the computer screen on the CNC machine tool. Then, after an approval is given to the manufacturing process, all processes are left to the machine completely. In addition, the time to perform a manufacturing process varies according to many factors such as the way this part is processed, the type of material to be processed, and the sawdust to be removed.

What are the Advantages of CNC Machines?

The advantages of CNC machines are as follows. The adjustment time of this workbench is very short when compared to some elements such as clamping molds and gauges used in conventional workbenches. Time loss caused by reasons such as adjustment, control, measured, manual movement is eliminated. Since the human factor is not very effective in the manufacturing part, serial and sensitive manufacturing is possible.

Craftsmen are not needed. In addition, machine operations have a very high precision. The working tempo of the bench is always high and the same. All kinds of electricity or labor consumption are reduced to the minimum. All kinds of personal errors that may arise from the operator in the manufacturing system have been eliminated. Since it does not use expensive elements such as molds, templates, gauges, the system is even cheaper. Less space is required in storage and the transition to component manufacturing is faster. In addition, the changes to be made on the part are made only in the relevant part of the program and in a series without changing the whole. For this reason, manufacturing with CNC machine tools has great flexibility.

What are the Disadvantages of CNC Machines?

As in every system, CNC machine systems also have some disadvantages. These;

A detailed manufacturing plan is necessary and requires an expensive investment. Hourly wages of CNC machines are always high and require meticulous use and maintenance when compared to conventional machines. Periodic maintenance should be done by experts or authorized persons.
